Call or write (no email) your representatives. Don't send tea bags. They'll end up in the trash. Demand your rights as a parent to home school if you want to, to keep your children out of mandated classes that explicitly teach immoral sexual practices and the use of contraception, and that promote non-traditional unions as "normal" families. Tell them you do NOT want to pay for abortions. Tell them you do not want them telling you what you can plant in your home garden or whether you can own a gun to hunt or protect your home and family. Tell them you will not stand for the elimination of the conscience clause. Go to the April 15th Tea Party in your area. If you can afford to, wear a patriotic costume to get noticed - you will stand out in any news coverage -- unless the MSN (mainstream news) refuses to cover it.
GET NOTICED As a former media relations professional I KNOW that television stations and newspapers look for visuals -- basically eye candy. Give it to them and get noticed. Dress up like a patriot and I guarantee you'll be on camera.
GET HEARD You need to think in terms of sound bytes. Prepare a single sentence that sums up how you feel. It can be a quote from your character, if you wish. Keep it short and you'll be heard.
